Tony Brown
Vice President/Safety Director
Tony Brown is Corrado Construction Company’s Vice President. Tony graduated from Troy State with a BS in Psychology in 1995. Shortly after graduation he became the Program Manager for the State of Maryland’s “System Reform Initiative.” As rewarding as that work was, Tony jumped at the chance to go to work with the Corrados in 2000, when he developed, incorporated and ran Corrado’s first formal safety program.
Tony had worked in construction all of his life and getting back into it seemed perfectly natural. His experience, personality and education prepared him for the challenges of incorporating a truly functional and formal safety program into the old school mentality of heavy civil construction. This was no easy undertaking, but Tony took his program to the field and worked it until it became second nature and commonplace. Under his guidance, Corrado’s recordables fell well under industry standard within a few short years.
Once the program was in place, Tony set about improving and maintaining it, spending most of his time in the field. A natural leader, Tony’s role morphed into that of a problem-solver. He was on-site, knew what was going on and was quick to jump in, lend a hand and handle any situation. Soon Tony was being called in to handle difficult issues on virtually all projects. A quick thinker, Tony immediately breaks down seemingly complex issues with logic and common sense and provides efficient and effective solutions.
This skill set was precisely what Joe needed to anchor his team. Joe brought Tony over in 2006 as Vice President of Corrado Construction. In this position, Tony oversees the safety program and oversees all aspects of operations, project management and estimating, working closely with Dave, Jill and Barry along with personnel from CCC’s sister company, Corrado Management Services.
