SAFETY

Picture
Joe Corrado views safety as an absolute responsibility - to our employees, our clients and our communities. Corrado Construction Company is committed to providing safe working conditions and work practices that protect our employees and communities as well as the environment. We understand that doing so makes good business sense.

Tony Brown is our Safety Director. In conjunction with our empowered field supervision, comprehensive safety inspections are conducted on all of our projects. These inspections are designed to evaluate activity at every level, ensuring that every individual on the site is safety-conscious and following our written safety procedures.

Our written safety policy has specific instructions for tasks such as:

        Hazard Communication
        Trenching and Excavation
        Demolition
        Crane Operation
        Welding
        Confined Space Entry
        Fall Protection

These policies are reviewed and updated through task-specific hazard analysis through consultation with a fully certified Risk Manager.

All employees receive formal safety orientation before commencing work. In addition, our project managers and Safety Director conduct weekly toolbox talks and continuing safety education and training. We take advantage of inclement weather and off-times to provide instructor-led and video classroom training. All field personnel also receive OSHA 40hr (Hazwoper) training in accordance with CFR 1910-126 so everyone is prepared and trained to handle the unexpected.

Monthly safety bonuses are further evidence of our commitment to safety. Financial rewards for safe performance help keep employees motivated to work safely and to see to it that their coworkers do the same. To document training and emphasize management's commitment to safety, Corrado Construction Company put together a Safety Committee to oversee the monthly criteria that must be met by our foremen to accomplish the company's safety goals and objectives.

Safety is a top priority for us. It is an integral part of our daily work and a key factor in our success. We are committed to seeing that every member of our team has the knowledge and support necessary to create and maintain a safe workplace.
