Jill Brown
Estimator/Project Manager
With the surge in the construction industry in the 1980’s, the Corrados contacted DelTech to request a list of candidates to fill a newly created position in their estimating department. The result of their search for new, young talent was hiring Jill Brown as an Estimator-Technician, to assist the Senior Estimator in all aspects of bid preparations. Jill brought a technical sophistication to the job and proved to be a very quick study with a natural feel for the work. She rapidly advanced to the position of Estimator, then Senior Estimator.
Corrado prides itself on its Estimators' attention to detail and their ability to identify deficiencies in design and “make it work” prior to mobilization. Jill picked up this trademark skill set early on and continued to cultivate it through her ability to communicate effectively with clients, engineers and the field. In an industry traditionally dominated by men, Jill has not only competed but excelled. Within a few short years of being hired, Jill had earned the respect of her coworkers and clients, and naturally transitioned into the role of Estimator/Project Manager.
Later in her career, when one of the Corrado family entities moved into residential and commercial development, Jill was chosen to handle all aspects of these development projects, from acquisition and design to construction management. This experience put Jill on “the other side of the table” in the development of scope of work and specifications, competitive bidding, de-scoping, contract awards, and construction management.
Recognizing the value of her well-rounded skill set and comprehensive experience, Joe Corrado pulled Jill from the other family interests in 2005 and named her Senior Project Manager. In this position, Jill coordinates project management and estimating in tandem with Barry Bertrando. This duo ensures that CCC’s estimates are precise and its project management is conducted at the highest level in the industry.
